OUR WEDDING CAKE SERVICE…

We have a large range of Wedding & Celebration Cakes on display at our shop along with Bridal & Food magazines for inspiration. All cakes are made to order. We can either design something new and bespoke for you, or you can choose a design from our portfolio which can be tailored to match your individual colour scheme and flowers.

Consultations & Cake Tasting in our Private Consultation Room

Relax in our consultation room with friends & family members. Consultations are by appointment only and we allocate up to one hour for you to spend choosing your cake design. Benjamin Lee will spend fifteen minutes with you to help you focus on the final design. Cake tasting samples will be supplied at the consultation, so please let us know which cake you would like to try prior to the consultation.

Lead Times

It is advisable for you to book your wedding cake with us as soon as you have confirmed the wedding date. We work on a first come, first served basis.

Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements

Nut Allergy: All our cakes are made in a kitchen where nuts are used, and although every care is taken we cannot guarantee our cakes will not contain nuts.
Gluten Allergy: We can make vanilla sponge with gluten free flour on request.
Lactose Intolerant: We can make a milk-free sponge, please ask when ordering. Please note it is made a kitchen where milk is used and we cannot guarantee cross contamination will not occur.
Egg Allergy: We can make an eggless sponge, please ask when ordering. Please note it is made in a kitchen where eggs are used and we cannot guarantee cross contamination will not occur.

Cake Design Alterations

Design alterations can be made up to but no later than one month before the wedding. If the alteration affects the cost then your balance will be adjusted accordingly.

Cakes Decorated with Fresh Flowers

If your cake design requires fresh flowers, your florist will supply these. We will decorate the cake with the flowers at the venue.

Please note some flowers are not suitable for use as a cake decoration. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.

Cakes Decorated with Diamantes

Please note that the diamante crystals that are used to decorate some of our cakes are not edible and must be removed from your cake before serving. All of our decorative gems are only used at the clients request and Benjamin Lee accepts no responsibility for any physical harm that may arise from their use.

Stand Hire

We generally use the silver cake stands at the venues, but we do cover these with fabric. If you require a special stand (e.g. for individual desserts) we can supply these. A cheque deposit of £100.00 is required. This is held in your file until the stand is returned to us. Stands must be returned within five days.

Costs

BESPOKE CAKES…
Our bespoke design service includes delivery and set-up at the wedding venue to ensure your cake looks its very best. We will contact the venue directly regarding timings and set up.

SIMPLY STYLISH CAKES…
Our simply stylish range is on a collection only basis, unless otherwise arranged.

Payment Terms

To confirm an order, a non-refundable deposit of £100.00 is required. Half the balance is due six months prior to the wedding, and the final balance one month before. We only accept cash or cards. We no longer accept cheques.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your wedding cake order, for any reason, up to thirty one (31) days before your wedding date, the deposit (£100.00) and half of the balance is non-refundable. All other monies paid will be refunded by business cheque within fourteen (14) business days. There will be no refund on wedding cake orders cancelled with less than one month’s notice before the wedding date.

All our display cakes in the shop are priced for you to browse when you visit. For a bespoke design, the price of your wedding cake will depend on the following factors:

OUR CELEBRATION CAKE SERVICE…
Ordering Information

To order a Celebration Cake from us all you have to do is ring us on 01248 712 778 or come and visit us at 1 Dale Street, Menai Bridge. We do NOT take orders through the website or by email as all details are personalised to suit you and therefore need to be discussed in person.

We can customise any cake for you, so if you have something in mind please ask.

We require 1 weeks notice (occasionally 3 working days) to make a Celebration Cake. Please order as early as you can to avoid disappointment, as we may not have the resources to meet demand at certain peak times. Celebration cake orders are on a collection only basis.

Our cakes are made with vegetable fats and contain dairy products. All our cakes are vegetarian. Alternative sponges are available.

Cake Storage & Shelf Life

Once collected all cakes should travel flat in the boot of the car, or in the foot well of the car. Do NOT travel with a cake on a seat or on someone’s knee!

All cakes should be stored in a cool dry place. Do not store cakes in the fridge unless they are fresh dairy cream cakes.

Sponge and chocolate cake will keep for at least eight days after collection.

Edible Images & Sugar Models

We can scan and print any photograph or image. Please ensure you give us the best quality photographs or images possible, as when they are scanned and printed the quality slightly deteriorates.

Any digital pictures should be supplied in jpg format.

Handmade sugar models to accompany your cake (e.g. mobile phones, handbags, etc) cost from £6.00. Figures of people and animals cost from £15.00 each depending on the detail, and these will be quoted for separately.

A 30% deposit of the total balance is required when ordering, with the balance due upon collection.
We only accept cash or cards. We no longer accept cheques.

Cancellation Policy

A £10.00 administration fee will always be withheld 24 hours after the order has been placed and paid for in relation to birthday and celebration cakes.

There will be no refund on cakes cancelled less than five (5) days prior to collection.

Complaints Procedure

Corrections and repairs to cakes, including inscription mistakes, can be corrected on the same day in most cases. You are required to give us the opportunity and must let us know of the problem within one (1) hour of accepting your cake.

Complaints are extremely rare and therefore we take them very seriously. Some complaints may require further investigation and an immediate refund may not always be possible.

In the unlikely event of a complaint, full or part cakes must be returned within three (3) days to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint.

The maximum refund we offer is the value of the cake. Further compensation is not available.
